Grilled Sourdough, Garlic-Rubbed

The broth-mop every clam pot deserves

  • 10 min
  • Easy
  • Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 sourdough loaf, thick slices
  • Olive oil
  • 1 whole garlic clove
  • Flaky salt

Method

  1. Brush slices with olive oil.
  2. Grill or griddle until deeply marked both sides.
  3. Rub one side of each hot slice with the raw garlic clove.
  4. Flaky salt.
  5. Serve beside anything with broth.

Tip. The toast acts as a grater — one clove seasons the whole loaf.

Start with how to clean a razor clam if your clams are still in the shell. Washington's daily limit is the first 15 you dig, so most recipes here are sized for one limit or less.

Dig them first.

DigTide tells you the minute a dig is approved, then shows the window to be on the sand.
