Privacy Policy

Effective September 16, 2026 · Last updated October 4, 2026

The short version

DigTide shows tides, beach status and dig alerts. We collect the minimum needed to make that work. We show no ads and we never sell your data.

What we collect

  • Account (optional): if you sign in with Google or Apple via Firebase Authentication, we receive your name, email and account identifier. You can use most of the app without an account.
  • Push token: if you enable alerts, Firebase Cloud Messaging issues a device token and topic subscriptions for the beaches you watch, so we can deliver dig-approval and closure alerts.
  • Purchases: subscriptions are processed by Google Play or the App Store and managed by RevenueCat. We receive subscription status, never your payment details.
  • On-device only: your dig log, achievements, watched beaches, settings and offline pack live on your phone. They are not uploaded.

What we don't do

  • No advertising, no ad SDKs, no cross-app tracking.
  • No selling or renting data, ever.
  • No precise location collection; beaches are picked by you.

Service providers

Firebase (Google) for sign-in and push, RevenueCat for subscription status, NOAA and Open-Meteo for public tide and weather data requested directly from your device. Each processes only what's needed for its function.

Data retention and deletion

Delete the app and on-device data is gone. To delete your account and push registration, use Settings → Account → Delete account, or email support@digtide.com and we'll remove it within 30 days. Full steps, and what is deleted and kept, are on the account deletion page.

Children

DigTide isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this page and change the date above when the policy changes. Questions: support@digtide.com.
