Razor clam festivals on the Washington coast

Two weekends a year the coast celebrates the clam: Ocean Shores in March and Long Beach in April. Dates, venues and how the digs line up.

Ocean Shores Razor Clam & Seafood Festival

Usually the third weekend of March. Last held March 20 to 22, 2026 at Ocean Shores Convention Center, 120 W Chance a La Mer NW, Ocean Shores.

Chowder tasting, a raw bar, Dungeness crab, live music, a clam gun decorating contest and a ticketed Sunday brunch. Free to attend. Digs are often scheduled on the festival weekend when tides and toxin tests allow.

Digging during a festival

Festival digs are the busiest tides of the year on those beaches. Arrive early for parking at the approaches, dig the edge of the crowd rather than the middle of it, and remember the rules do not change for the weekend: the first 15 you dig, each digger with their own container, and a license for everyone 15 and up (rules and license). The festival dates only become dig days if WDFW approves them after toxin testing, usually about a week ahead; the app alerts you the moment that happens.

Next year's dates are added here when the organisers announce them. If you run a coastal event that belongs on this page, write to support@digtide.com.

Will the festival weekend be a dig weekend?

DigTide tells you the minute WDFW approves the dates, with the tide and the digging window for the beach.
