Digs postponed
Razor clam digs postponed Oct 6, 2026: marine toxins
WDFW postponed razor clam digs on Copalis Beach, Mocrocks, Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Kalaloch until further notice after marine toxin (domoic acid) tests rose above the Department of Health limit. No digging is allowed until WDFW announces new dates, usually after two clean tests a week apart.
How this page was made: DigTide's software wrote it automatically from WDFW's release and the same live data as the dig dates page. Confirm anything you act on with WDFW.
What this means
Domoic acid is produced by an algae bloom and builds up in razor clams. It cannot be seen, smelled, tasted, cooked or frozen away, so the state closes beaches rather than warning diggers. The Department of Health tests clams from each beach; when two consecutive tests are under the limit, WDFW can reschedule.
Clams dug before the closure are a separate question: the safety page covers symptoms and the health advisory.
What happens next
- WDFW posts the next test results and any new dates on its razor clam page; DigTide checks it through the day.
- The open today page and each beach page show the live status.
- Get told the moment digs are approved: push alerts in the app, or email alerts on any phone.

Hear it the minute digs are back.
DigTide pushes the approval to your phone, with the tide and window for each date, and keeps it all cached for the beach.
